At the monthly meetings of The Bayside U3A Writers Group creative energies bounce off the walls as 20 writers share written works of various genres.

Since 2013, 28 radio plays have been written by writers in the group and performed by local actors. Each year, the group has the opportunity of working with a Bayside Council Artist in Residence to adapt a short story into a radio play. In 2018 the writers worked with Bayside Artist in Residence writer, Michelle Deans, who kindly offered one of her stories for radio play adaptation.

Whether writing, poetry, short stories, novels, radio plays, stage plays or creative messages, there is one thing shared in common by the members of this wonderful group of diverse personalities and talent – an enthusiasm and passion for writing.
